Host System Functionality
Host systems like the AS/400 and RS/6000 have advanced features using iXware's host system solution called DocGate. DocGate is an advanced document routing system, which sends electronic documents automatically, using a variety of communication services. DocGate is an add-on module for the iXware information exchange platform.
In today's business environment, it is essential to ensure fast and accurate communication with customers and suppliers. In order to be competitive, DocGate for iXware delivers the solution that enables you to communicate quickly and efficiently. DocGate is the complete solution for Fax, Internet Mail, E-mail, and Text messaging, providing you with leading edge technology benefits, and more, from your host applications. DocGate is easy to use and does not require host software, programming or application changes. Order confirmations, invoices and office-generated messages can be sent directly from the ’standard’ output of any application on your host. The simplicity of the DocGate principle makes this solution truly ’plug and play’.
Documents can be forwarded to DocGate by printing or a simple transfer of the spool file. DocGate will deliver those documents by Fax, Internet Mail, E-mail, and Text Messaging, or any other installed iXware communication service. DocGate automatically ensures that the documents arrive in the appropriate format for the communication service used at the destination. To the recipient, the document appears exactly as it would if it were printed on paper. DocGate converts the documents, performs the image overlay and strips the imbedded codes before submitting the document, XML message or spooled file to the iXware Server. DocGate resides on a Windows NT server and is seamlessly integrated with the iXware Server. By adding additional modules, the iXware Server can become your complete business communications center.
DocGate for iXware can be used to allow messaging from any business application, regardless of operating system or platform, that can generate spool files or XML messages.
