Text Messaging Functionality

iXware offers SMS (Text Messaging / Digital Pagers) functionality to users. The iXware SMS module facilitates both sending and receiving of text messages. The following functionality is offered by iXware with respect to text messaging:

• Message Splitting

  The standard length of a standard text message is limited to 160 characters. IXware is capable of sending longer message which are then split into multiple messages.

  
  

• Reverse Delivery

  Most mobile phones receive the last message sent first. When using message splitting iXware will send the last part of a message first, allowing the user to read the message in the correct sequence.

  
  

• E-Mail Forwarding

  iXware makes it possible to send a text message, which starts with an E-mail address, directly to that e-mail address.

  
  

• Personal Sender Address

  The iXware SMS module makes it possible to include a personalized originator address. This option makes it possible to receive replies directly on a mobile phone.

  
  

• Personal Sender Name

  The iXware SMS module also makes it possible to include a personalized originator name instead of an address.

  
  

• Supported Text Message Transport

  There are various ways to deliver and receive text messages. The choice for one of these will depend on the volume of outgoing text messages and the need to receive text messages. The following text transports are supported:

  • Public text messages

  • GSM boxes

  • Large text messages (x.25)

  • Connection to a text message service provider
